Who is Ashley?

Ashley Garza is a devoted mother and wife whose love for crochet is deeply rooted in cherished childhood memories. Growing up, she watched in awe as her grandmother skillfully worked her crochet hook, creating beautiful pieces with effortless grace. She always wished she could learn, but life had a way of making her put it off—until it was too late to learn from the woman who inspired her most. Determined to honor her grandmother’s legacy, Ashley dedicated herself to mastering the craft, and now she shares her passion with others. Every stitch she makes is a tribute, and she knows in her heart that her grandmother would be proud of how far she’s come.
So who is that other lady?

Amanda Blackwood never really knew what it was like to grow up with grandparents, so she didn’t have the traditional experience of learning a craft passed down through generations. It wasn’t until she married her husband three years ago that she discovered just how incredible crochet could be—thanks to his adult daughter, who introduced her to the art of looping yarn into something magical. Curious but unsure where to start, Amanda joined Ashley's very first beginner’s class, and from the moment she picked up a hook, something clicked. She took to crochet with a passion and dedication few do, turning what started as a simple curiosity into a true craft. Now, she not only helps teach absolute beginner classes, but she also manages the group’s website and occasionally sparks inspiration with new project ideas. For Amanda, crochet isn’t just about creating—it’s about community, connection, and the joy of discovering something wonderful in an unexpected place.
